it really didnt look bad, ive seen glazed dv rollers, usually on older machines,

I would try to get oem toner in it to. they already have enough problems with the developer :-)

Take the mag roller out and clean it. Use a folded piece of paper. I agree with those that say you should be using OEM toner. Even Ricoh had a problem on previous mid volume models with some batches of toner.

If you have a chance, if you can get "Mr. Clean Magic Erasers" try using them to clean coated developer rollers. We've been doing that for a while, and it works really well.

I've given up cleaning the Dev bias roller and trying to run it again. Now I just replace the drum, dev, charge roller and blade at the same time as all that happens is that it'll start to give background after 500 copies again. Hopeless machine and the MP5002 is just as bad, bring back the Adonis range please!!!!!!

                        Re: MP 5001 BACK GROUNDING

OK thanks for the insight, I have used oem or NA trading aftermarket toner for years, nA trading in minn is a ricoh dealer that developed there own toner just for ricoh machines.
But after all it is generic, and i used oem in a mp4500 when the DV formula was changed by ricoh and we all went crazy trying to figure out why we were getting a bad back ground al of a sudden, im going to clean the mag roller, change the DV and use oem only on this machine, i just delivered a mp5000 no backgrounding but one side of the copy is grayed out, i think its the drum. Im going with oem toner on this as well
thanks agian for the ides, and really,on the scrubbers? wow, now im using marvel mystery oil on all bearing and metal to bushing points on my high speed machines and a house hold cleaner on my dv rollers, what a great country we live in !!

                        thanks to all

I'm well versed with NA parts and supplies. They do have some things that are great, and some that are not like toners. I never had very good luck with their toners especially color toner. And the ricoh drums for the 60 page machines always seem to log sc355 or 350 codes. They always said no one else had these problems. Also they are owned buy the same guy that owns Metro Sales, thee largest Ricoh dealer in Minnesota..........
