    mpc300 color scanning issue

    I have a mpc300sr scans in blk n wht not a prob, if i set it to scan in color transmission fails, but not every time??
    either email or folder, i can set it to 100 dpi or 600 dpi no diff, and usually more than not it fails, id say it fails 98% of the time
    i have the compression normal, everything is like all at everyday normal scan settings
    i set this stuff up all the time never had a color scanning issue, is there some thing with the 300? i have a 400 scanning no prob no issue
    please advise

          As soon as you have a failure, go into user tools and select the "print list" button on the interface settings page. The last page (3rd?) will list transmission error codes at the very end.

          Also try scanning as a TIFF/JPEG and see if there is any difference.

              its says transmission failed
              and i did try tiff/jpeg with same problem
              thanks ill look up the error code maybe have a clue

                      SMTP error 554

                      • SMTP error 554 is one of the more vague error codes, but is typically caused by the receiving server seeing something in the From or To headers that it doesn't like. This can be caused by a spam trap identifying your machine as a relay, or as a machine not trusted to send mail from your domain.
                      • We ran into this problem recently when adding a new server to our array, and we fixed it by making sure that we had the correct reverse DNS lookup set up.

                      • 554 is commonly used by dns blacklists when shooing away blacklisted servers.
