[Misc] MPC3003 Inport/Export setting to USB drive

    Hi all,

I'm swapping an mpc3003 for a faster mpc4503 & want to export all the settings, ip, smtp, address book etc to the new mpc4503, is it possible to do this via a usb stick drive, eg can I export the 3003 setting to USB drive then import them to the 4503?

I am aware I can do it via the WIM, but doing at the MFP via USB would be easier for me at this particular location.

    Thanks.

I am pretty sure the only way to import or transfer information besides through the WIM is with an SD Card. You can import all the copiers settings onto a blank SD card then insert it into the new one and import. Add'y Book, NIC, SMTP, NVRam etc.

I don't think any service information can be obtained via a USB drive as of yet.

    Hope that is helpful

Settings: SP5-749-001 to export (to SD?) and -101 to import, I believe, the SP modes are a bit vague.
Address Book: SP5-846-051 to export to SD and -052 to import.

Import.JPGImport 2.JPG yes it's possible to do but address book is exceptional, it's old traditional way through Sp for (address book backup). other settings can be import/export and managed with a SD card. in front slot in Operation Panel. make sure you have Admin Authentication ''ON'' to find the Import/export Option in system setting. Hope it helps

Thanks for the info here, I was able to back up & restore the address book to SD card in service mode no problem.

I also exported the machine settings to SD OK by using SP5-749-001 to export but when I tried to import using SP5-749-101 on the new machine it just said failed, any idea why?

It wasn't a big issue as I printed on the network settings etc on the old machine.
