The ultimate result of posting this information in an open public forum will be that Ricoh will either change it or eliminate it on future models and firmware updates to existing equipment. In the future, if you feel compelled to provide proprietary information to someone, do it in a private message.Comment

Re: How to reset password on MP 4000 Ricoh?
Return to old topic for help, MP3010 came without HHD, I put in another one and formatting, error message disappearing:"address book data error" late I found both password setting no-default, the previous method didn't work, sp5846-46, Sp5824, both says "fail". I haven't got any idea how to work around.
Thank you for some suggestion.Comment

Re: How to reset password on MP 4000 Ricoh?
Did you backup the address book from the NVRAM to a SD card? Did the 3010 have an address book before on a SD card? If so, did you migrate the address book from the SD card to the HDD? Did the HDD you installed come from another machine or was it a new HDD? If it did, did you format it on the other machine prior to removing it? SP 5824 should have been done before installing the HDD as a safety backup of the NVRAM. In all likely hood, you have possibly cratered the NVRAM beyond recovery.Comment
