The ultimate result of posting this information in an open public forum will be that Ricoh will either change it or eliminate it on future models and firmware updates to existing equipment. In the future, if you feel compelled to provide proprietary information to someone, do it in a private message.

It's out there now, can we get an admin to remove it?

Return to old topic for help, MP3010 came without HHD, I put in another one and formatting, error message disappearing:"address book data error" late I found both password setting no-default, the previous method didn't work, sp5846-46, Sp5824, both says "fail". I haven't got any idea how to work around.
              Thank you for some suggestion.

Thank you for providing a solid example of why certain specific service procedures have no business being discussed in an open forum!
You begged for your ammunition and got it, and now you think that a single SP mode is your magic wand to resolve ALL your problems!

                SP5824?..................wtf?????????!!!!

I think you'd better to change NVRAM. So that, you can reset admin password.
                  Good luck.

You're WAY behind on this thread my friend. That problem's been resolved.
He's onto an entirely different machine with an ENTIRELY different problem....and it wasn't even his thread to begin with!

Did you backup the address book from the NVRAM to a SD card? Did the 3010 have an address book before on a SD card? If so, did you migrate the address book from the SD card to the HDD? Did the HDD you installed come from another machine or was it a new HDD? If it did, did you format it on the other machine prior to removing it? SP 5824 should have been done before installing the HDD as a safety backup of the NVRAM. In all likely hood, you have possibly cratered the NVRAM beyond recovery.

Thanks, the particular guy, A good lesson I learn, I didn't backup previous address book because everything is clear, even PM was clear. what is hells the previous one did everything expect from PWD setting!! The replaced HHD is old one, just simply formatted while installing
