Wow this thread escalated quickly LOL.....

I should have updated it years ago but what I eventually found out is you don't even need to use SP5810-002 when you have this code.

Before switching off the device, go to SP3701 (i think it is) and set the fusing unit, belt and pressure roller to 1 to tell the device you are replacing it with a new fuser.

Switch it off and back on and off you go, the device will do process control, reset all fusing codes and fusing PM counters and work like a charm.

In saying this the fuser was also replaced

ok wait Imprestik .. you say you replaced the fuser so that wouldve had the new fuse thus reset the SC554 code.. i suppose along with sp3700 counter reset.
Im wondering if a MPC4503 with a SC554-02 code will reset just by reseting counters in sp3700.. or is it 3902?

I have one with stripped drive gears, and sc554-02 code.. but i dont have the fuse...

A new fusing unit from Ricoh will have the fuse already installed. A replacement fusing sleeve from Ricoh will have a fuse taped inside to the bottom of the box. If you are buying parts from after market suppliers and they do not have a fuse, too bad, so sad, you get what you pay for.

You can not reset this spanner code without installing the new fuse that comes with the new belt assembly.

Rebuild your fuser and replace the fuse at the same time, install it and the spanner code will still appear. Reset the fusing code now using SP5-810-002 and it will say completed, reboot device and it will come back to life

Welcome back.I have a similar problem with the MP C3003 model.The furnace is at 27% consumption, code SC 544-02 occurred.replaced new furnace with a new fuse SP 5-810-01 resets with the result "complete", while SP 5-810-02 pops up the message "error".previous furnace in another machine works fine.I uploaded a new firmware package, replaced both power supply boards and it's still the same.Does anyone else have an idea what could be broken?

Words of wisdom...please. Machine needed a fuser cause of copy count reminder on operation screen that started service call..before I could return with a fuser had error SC544-02. When I arrived reset error and it worked with the old fuser. Replaced fuser with new reset count. Operator called three days later SC544-02. I went back tried to reset error would not let me error stays. Placed a order for another fuser. Im doubtful new fuser is the fix. To try to cut to the fix what's a educated guess from past experience maybe wrong? Ac Board? If makes a difference this a MP 5054 operator has a sentimental attachment...

"SC544-02 A Fusing High Temperature Detection (hardware) (Non-Contact thermistor High Temperature Error) In the event of an error  Triac defective (short-circuit)  Engine controller defective  Heating central thermopile defective  Fusing control software: out of control  Attach the new fusing unit, then run SP-5-810-002.  If the triac is defective, replace the AC power supply board.  If necessary, replace the BCU or the Fusing central NC sensor.

The thermopile is not part of the fusing unit. It is part of the frame.

If you have the SC544-02 error you need to replace the quick blow fuse to reset the error with SP5810-02

A new complete fuser unit comes with the fuse installed or the fuser sleeve comes in the box.
