[CQ] SPC 240SF Poor black prints & how to enter SP mode!?

I recently visited an spc240 with poor black prints (see sample below) the customer had already replaced the black AIO I also fitted another new genuine one, cleaned the laser glass etc this didn’t help.

The transfer belt, fuser unit & transfer roller were all past life so I have ordered a new transfer belt hoping this is the cause.
I have the service manual but nowhere does it say how to enter SP mode, it explains how to reset the transfer belt counter in “maintenance mode” but doesn’t explain how to enter SP mode do accomplish this! Agggghhhhh Any ideas???

If I had to make a guess I would say it could be the k transfer roller sticking (under the transfer belt), a dirty contact or maybe a k voltage issue.

But I would try a new ITB unit if it's past yield.

    Maintenance mode access is: Clear > 1 > 0 > 7 > Color copy key
You just have to get the timing right if memory serves me right.

Thanks, the transfer belt isn't too expensive so I ordered that first, I cleaned all the contacts.
Why dont Ricoh put this SP info in the manual like on the regular MPC manuals!?

Most likely due to the fact this is a rebadged device and not Ricoh made.

I don't think you can enter service mode as described above either, as far as I'm aware you need to hook your laptop up and use the SOM to enter service mode

SOM is for the printer version, the SF does have a maintenance mode (it's just not the standard Ricoh service mode since it's not a Ricoh engine).
