    MPC4503 Image Defects

    Hey People,

These are what i am getting out of the machine from test print in serivce mode. Machine only has about 6000 total. Have tried different transfer. If i stop the machine i can see the image on the belt. Its nearly the same on CMY and K. Dont think its drums or fuser. Thinking i need to take the laser unit out and check that? Any other sugestions?

    Thanks

To me it looks like development units that do not have enough developer in them.

When you say "i can see the image on the belt" is it a good solid image or a bad image like your print samples?

If the image is good on the belt check the transfer roller is fitted correctly, as on the course I fitted it back incorrectly & the samples came out exactly like yours!

If the black is solid then the issue is with the ITB unit, the belt cams up when making color and the black is always in contact with its pcu, maybe the front or rear nylon cam is off or broken. If the black is looking like the color then you most likely have uneven contact with the paper transfer roller. If you remove the ITB unit and turn the belt, are there any ripples in it on the transfer end?

I have the same machine at the workshop and swapped out the cyan drum unit and it did the same thing. It was a good drum out of a working machine. Just a test. That would mean it wouldnt be the dev unit?

The image is bad like the samples. I bought the faulty machines transfer back to the workshop and put it in our machine here and it worked fine.

                    Hey Guys,

I fixed this problem this morning. I thought when doing A4 tests and stopping it the image on the belt it was bad. After having a better look and doing A3 test i found the image on the belt and the drum looked ok. So i started looking at the paper transfer unit. The documents i have attached show what the problem is but basically the lever that sits under the transfer roller gets stuck down out of position and needs to be pushed back under the plastic guide there for it. Hope this helps someone that has this same problem.
