    Savin C3502 smudge?

Every now and then the customer will get a smudge (smear) on the page. I cant get it to do it for me, the showed me examples. So, I replaced the Black pcu, still does it sometimes. Does anyone have any ideas, almost looks like a charge issue.

Could you provide an example of the smudge, a picture says more than 1000 word (or something)
Please start you post with brand, model, problem.

I've had fusing sleeves give random marks on copies even when they look to be in good condition. It's the sleeve that gives most image quality problems on these machines

I've had fusing sleeve, drum and dev unit all cause smudges.

The fusing sleeve bends, scratches or scuffs.
The drum cleaning roller gets dirty.
The dev unit gets covered in toner (worn seal?) and regularly needs cleaning, sometimes the toner drops back onto the drum.

Clean the stripper plate, toner gets built up on it & damages the fuser sleeve, if you catch it in time it won't have to replace the sleeve.

If the smudge appears to always be the same shape and is the same distance from the sides of the page, pull out the ITB and check it for damage.

                      Hi there!
Agree with Debs, the sleeveroller may look OK, but everytime the customer prints some more papers the smudge/ghostimage apears.
                      Greetings...

The sleeves used to price out around $200.00 they've come down to about $130.00. I've always just used the printer version fuser assembly for $290.00 comes with a fuse and transfer roller. Now I have around 26 copier fusers with bad sleeves.

I'm going to chime in for Dev dropping on these models. Split the K drum/dev and tap the dev unit a couple of times onto a sheet of paper, you'll get two nice lines of toner that was built up in the 'trough'.
