    1045 ricoh

    customer says smearing copy,poor fusing can smear with finger.had them chek temp was at 160dgs.had them set temp to 185.could this be an indication of a board going bad.no error codes in s c.seems to be fine now.had them run 11 bi 17 seems ok.

        No, it doesn't sound like a board problem. When I've seen this, sometimes the temp just needs to be turned up just a bit. And, the tension springs were replaced to give that 'new spring' tension back on the fuser/press rollers.

        I never had any generic toner problems on these machines, but considering how many places offer generic, I cannot say that there isn't crap out there.

        Make sure you have some thermostats with you because sometimes when you adjust the temp, it can pop these thermostats. You'll then have to spend some time adjusting the temp to find that happy medium between non-fusing and not-popping the thermostats.

        Being such a thin roller, heat can get pulled out rather quickly.

          Have a look at the extracting fan,i had the same trouble with a
          Nad, because of that fan plugged in the wrong direction,in fact it was
          not "Extracting " at all !!If i remember well,the sticker with fan characteristics must be visible,check your pressure roller to .
