    I would like to say again that it might be important to double check the connections between the document feeder and the IOB board, as I had to deal with a problem very similar to this recently on a different line of machines and that's how I solved it.
    In my case, the connection that powered the light source for the CIS wasn't fully seated. And it was my fault that was causing the problem, too. D'oh!

        Your not going to get the information you need from the machine as the SP values for the CIS ass'y are missing, normally wiped out with an memory all clear.

        You require the factory supplied SMC sheet which is normally folded away on the inside of the front door.

            the smc sheet under the front door DID have the values!! and It worked!!! Thanks to all who responded
            The default value on my machine were
            4-712=3666
            4-713-3741
            4-714- 4082
            In case some else needs a starting point
