    [Misc] Samsung SCX weird problems:

Not my week for Sammis! I have two seperate accounts, two different weird problems:

1.) Machine called for toner, customer installed a OEM toner from a sealed box, machine runs on and on then goes to "Ready to Copy" while still running but print key does not respond to any input. Machine will read "no response from MCB" and the go back to ready to copy, Machine only has around 20,000 copies total. I will check the spring in the back any other ideas?

2.) Second machine is a factory refurb. Loaded print drivers ets and tried to print. Test page and all is well. Customer calls later and says after machine went to power save, the machine would not print until power cycle on and off. I have printer on static IP. Loaded correct drivers. Anyone els eseen this problem?

    OK. I give up.

What model or models are you referring to? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Ah! That's much clearer. Thanks.

Me? I'm aiming for 7 consecutive hours of sleep. Glorious sleep.

Haven't had to much weird stuff on the 6555's, but plenty on several other Sammis. No response from MCB means Ram clear first, Firmware second, and you better have the Main Control Board on the way! Also back up your address books before the ram clear. And I've replaced several hard drives in the Sammis.

As to #1, there's a bulletin on this. Like the Sharp Panther series, the plastic shaft of the toner motor breaks, but does not shear off. When there is rotational torque on the motor shaft, the roll pin twists the shaft, binding the spring loaded coupler. I don't know if there is a new style part, but it's the toner motor, for sure. On the Sharp machine, they came out with a toner motor with a metal shaft. =^..^=

It looks as though you have to order the whole drive assy (JC97-02681A).
It does not look as though this is an updated part. You may expect re-occurrences.
