    Samsung SCX-6555 "Error 1-9" issues

    We have a 6555 in the field and we're trying to figure out this jamming problem. It's intermittant, so we've never seen it happen but error histroy always shows 5 or 6 per day. Customer says paper is jamming at fuser, but not entering fuser unit. Recycle bin always has copies with toner not fused and folded- as if its crashing into the fuser. Error is 1-9. Samsung said try registration sensor. We've replaced that, but no change. We're going back with entire side door assembly to see if that helps. Anyone seen this before?

    As a side note: I'd say it's time to have a dedicated Samsung section. It seems most of the posts in "Other" are Samsung.

      The 6345's are well known for the exit flag returning slowly (the one on the fuser). I think I'd look at that next. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        I replaced the exit sensor a few months ago so I figured I was safe, but it might be worth a try. Today we went back with side door assembly and in doing my research I found out that there are two registration sensors. So I got the tech to replace the other one with a brand new sensor- which turned out to be defective! So there's no telling whether I can trust the recently replaced exit sensor. You just can't win sometimes.

          Replace the fixing sensor,the one just in behind fuser that actuator on fuser works with. Swap it with cassette paper level photo interrupt,same part. Samsung knows of this problem and has improved the sensor(it deteriorates from heat). This happens on ALL Samsungs(6245,6345.6555,6455,8380,etc). This will fix it. I have changed about 20 myself

            Jam code 1-10...replace actuator assembly on fuser. Jam code 1-9..replace the sensor itself

                The exit sensors warp - I use heat (pocket torch) to straighten it out - works perfectly! - If you don't have new ones.

                  Problem solved! We upgraded the f/w and haven't had a single jam in 3 weeks. A lesson learned: upgrade f/w first!
