    Samsung SCX-5935FN

Hey I have a Samsung 5935FN in the field that will not boot up. Tech says screen freezes during boot up. We are not very familiar with the Samsung line but agreed to service this one when we placed a new copier. Can y'all give me some input on how to do Firmware and Operating system on Samsung machine that will not boot up?
    Thank you,
    Jay

Try to boot the unit with the hard drive disconnected. If it won't boot, firmware won't help. firmware is loaded from a usb connected PC, and you run a batch file that basically sends raw print data to the machine. The machine would recognize the .hd file as firm ware and load it. The last firmware I know of was version 49.

Thank you I was able to boot copier after disconnecting harddrive. I ran some copies and some internal reports but we had message saying "fax memory almost full...print fax or delete job". I had to go on call and when I get back I find out Tech took battery off main board thinking it would allow memory to clear off fax board. WELL now copier is completely dead. I know we need a harddrive but not sure what to do to get unit back up running after battery was removed from main board. We are trained on sharp, toshiba and lexmark and have no business working on this samsung. Praying you guys can help us out of a bind

If he killed the MSOK pcb ( AKA NVram) your so screwed!!!! that pcb can only be replaced by Samsung in Korea and it's machine specific, and as a former rep I had from sammy said, good luck getting that From Korea.....

As for the main pcb make sure you order the pcb for the correct country your in, and hope sammy sends you the right one !!!

Will this also cause the machine to randomly power cycle?

That could be Hard drive or main PBA or the PSU.
That's from my past experience with the sammy's. I no longer work for a sammy dealer so I don't deal with sammy anymore.

Now that was genius right there. You've got yourself a very nice doorstop now. At best a parts donor. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

When this happens, there's no display, and no keypad operation. One of the guys I work with is sending the OPE key panel sub key pba plus the display. Doesn't have the main, so that's something I'll recommend to him before the parts ship on Monday (call came in after parts cut-off). I threw the idea out to see if it'll boot up with the HDD disconnected. I can let anyone who might be interested what fixes our machine.
