    SCX5935FN skew when dulpexing

I've got a customer that has an SCX5935FN. They produce documents that have borders on them and there is a small, (less than 2mm,) skew when they duplex. It doesn't matter if it is printed or copied.
We have replaced the fuser, cartridge, paper tray, registration roller, exit unit, duplex unit, back door unit, feed roller and duplex guide unit. Firmware has been updated to latest version. I have adjusted the spring tension in the duplex unit, (most likely cause) and replaced with a newer unit with newer style rollers. It does not matter which paper drawer you use. MP tray, tray 1 or tray 2. The issue occurs when an internal test page is printed from tech mode.
This unit is about 6 months out of warranty so the unit wont be exchanged.
Out of curiosity, I unboxed a new SCX5935FN and it had a slight skew also. Not as bad as this one, (about .5mm better,) but still noticable. I'm not sure that this is even something that CAN be fixed. Anyone else notice this issue and more importantly does anyone have a fix????
    Thanks in advance.

Its the way those machines work, if you noticed, the duplex drive rollers are all down the one edge of the page. I even had samsung come have a look and new ones and used ones did the exact same thing. In short. No fix, at least none that I know of.

We've had some good results (but not perfect) by forcing (bending) the drive rollers to push the paper toward the side with the rollers. Too much bend, though, will cause paper cuts in the plastic.
I've not done this myself, but this is the news from the field techs.

So... twisting those little rollers to the opposite side of the skew then? Hmm may be worth a shot!

I'm betting that less than 2mm qualifies as "within machine specifications". =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It does. Try telling that to a customer.

It makes you wonder why they wouldn't put another set of duplex drive rollers on the other side....
I was actually able to get the problem machine to have less skew than the new one. I adjusted the spring tension so there was a little less pressure being put on the shaft and it seemed to help. It's still very noticeable though.

Not surprising... I tried replacing it (the duplex section) with neglible change... I generally don't point out the duplex function on that model as a "feature" because of this... yes it's nice it has it.. no it's not the best.

                Regards.

I would check the hinges on the adf. I have found some hinges don't seat right a small skew on the adf unit can cause a bump in the image or skewing.

look at the hinges. you can try to hold the adf unit a little to the left while adf unit is in motion to see if that helps.
