    SharpDesk issue

    Good afternoon!
Hopefully this is an easy question:
on an MX-4100n, customer can scan to email, scan to usb but cannot scan to sharpdesk.
the message "Scanner in PC Mode" comes up
I am in a different state and am remoting in. I've updated firmware, had the customer replace the network cable, reinstalled SharpDesk... really hoping it's not the NIC Card, though not sure it would be since I can access the web interface.

    Any ideas on this?

    Thanks!

*edit* there was a mention of a CE-00 error code from the customer...

Default tab in image send set to pc scan. Go into system settings, key operator, image send and disable pc scan. PC scan is for twain scanning.

Sounds plausible. I've got a remote session scheduled for tomorrow. I'll update with status.

      Thank you!

No sir, same issue. Tried restoring to factory defaults. No luck. Sending a technician out to try on his computer.

Tech laptop has same error. Factory defaults did not resolve the problem either. Using SharpDesk "Aquire" I can scan... Something just isn't adding up.

          Any more thoughts?

          Thanks!

Was the GDI version of Sharpdesk installed?

Sorry, you lost me on that one. GDI Version?
installed SD 3.3, same install package I've used hundreds of times previously.

                "SharpDesk GDI (host-based) software 3.2.0.516
This version of SharpDesk is intended for GDI (host-based) connection only and doesn't support the Network Scan Tool."

SD 3.3 v1.80 is the latest, but I remember seeing that 3.5 was going to replace it, but I have not seen it on IDNC.

I haven't looked in a while, you inspired me to do so... I've got a copy that works and don't typically go looking for updates, The current version on IDNC is:
                  Sharpdesk v3.5
                  Day Posted: 2/9/2016
However, if I recall correctly, you cannot install this without a hard copy (CD)

I was unable to install 3.4 without cd.

When installing 3.5 mentioned above, the install procedures asks for a product key from dse-pub.sharrp.co.jp. I have been installing 3.3 and running 3.5 as an update. Use instrucitons per TT-012516_7 to retain serial number.

I don't think that will resolve my current issue though... seems to be an issue on the copier side.

                        Not to run off topic.

I have been using the 3.3 version as well. I tried a clean install of the new 3.5 but ran into the product key needed issue. If i reinstall 3.3 with one of the older codes that I have memorized then update to 3.5 will sharp catch on too what I've done?

Not sure what Sharps intentions are, but as of now update from 3.3 to 3.5 is possible.

Do not uninstall previous version. Run the 3.5 installer until 'remove previous version' dialog pops up, cancel. This will retain the key. Uninstall 3.3, and rerun 3.5.

3.3 can be installed as many times as you like using the same s/n and they're loosing potential sales because people caught on to this I think... just my opinion though.

I agree completely, I believe also that Sharp sees this as a large loss of revenue. Cant tell you how many times customers have bought new machines and added the new license to their existing license list.
