    [CQ] Bands on prints

This week we have had an outbreak of lines on print jobs. The lines start out at a spot varying from the start of the print to just a couple of inches from the end of the print. In most cases they thicken to become bands about 1/8th of an inch wide. This is only on printing, and the five cases I've seen are from PDF's. the part that makes it tough is the model range this is affecting....MX-2300, MX-M363N, MX-4101N, MX-3070....These are different customers that up until last week have had no problems. I am about to have a network technician go to one of these and open a hot line call, but hoping someone else has encountered this. I can't claim this on all of these machines, but I know for a fact the MX-3070 has the latest and greatest as far as firmware. The first couple I saw were strictly black lines/bands, but now have seen it in color as well. I am not certain that all of the computers involved are Windows 10, but I know at least three of the five are. The other theory making the rounds here is that there is a problem with Adobe. I know there is more information needed by the computer savvy people, but this is all I have for now....will update after the hot line call, but I'm sure this isn't a problem anywhere else.

sample would be good, but I think your having the pdf freakout, I have seen it at some customers and usually printing the pdf as image would correct. it is usually corrupt pdf , badly created pdf or trying to print pdf from web page. Just last week all of a sudden I was experiencing this on my mx 2610 with Sharp pdf from Sharp website. deleted print drivers completely from pc, installed latest driver from sharp and uninstall /reinstall adobe acrobat dc reader.
so far hasn't come back. printing in postscript also can help.

Just had this happen. When the file was forwarded to another pc it was fine. The customer was printing a PDF from an email directly. Happened with two of the five computers in the office. Hilariously the client swore running the charge cleaner helped. Lol

We had a Lexmark do this, and finally a network guy said maybe he could help. Turns out it has to do with Adobe updates.
Didn't think to try the corona cleaner.

Of cause Microsoft will tell you it is a security prevention installed on their new Win10 O/S.
Which is another way of "grubbing out" Adobe's share of their PDF software market?
(The reasons why I NEVER update to a new O/S until the 3rd service pack comes out)

                For the Techo's:
The bands across the page makes a photocopier tech's job so much harder.
I wonder how many copier/printer circuit boards have been replaced because of the above Adobe/Win10 software issues.

I did internal prints, and a little trouble shooting before I thought of changing parts out. When internals, and copies were fine I talked to the customer about the source of the file. It pays to do some research before dumping parts into a machine

Yeah, because clients will take that extra step. Bwahahaha. I've had the same client call three times for the same issue even after I explained to her that it wasn't an issue with the printer.

I have seen this issue since 2013. That one was using Adobe 11.0.2 and WinXP.
Have seen this in b/w or color prints. Usually Adobe, sometimes Publisher.
Last week, customer prints from WIN10 PC, has these lines. Use a USB with same file it prints perfect.
We are asking customers to change printer driver to PS instead of PCL6 to take care of the problem. So far it's working.
                            YMMV. Fingers and toes crossed!
