It sounds to me like your are at the stage where you need to call the nearest sharp dealer and have tech support sent out. Otherwise you have a large paperweight.

Any suggests to solving this problem will be highly appreciated. All suggestions and advice didn't seem to work, I wonder what the real problem could be as to why this machine hasn't worked ever since I tried to turn it on again

Check and inspect the power board if there is a blown fuse or try to remove all wire connected from power board then connect it again.....

Thanks guys, i opened the back cover of the machine and traced the power boards with my meter, it shows there is power input up to a point its supposed to connect to the secondary power board but the voltage is not there

I bought this machine secondhand and got it through airfreight, i plugged machine and tested a few photocopies and powered off the machine to attach finishers, machine will not come on again! I noticed humidity inside the machine, i opened the back of the machine but will not trace if there was any burn and it looks complicated. I have bought the Sharp MX-7040N Service Manual online and the PDF file is quite bulky upto 700mb and i dont know what to do or where to go. Any help from anyone with experience on this machine will be highly appreciated...

IN the USA, I would check the breaker box where the electricity enters your building. Then test the outlet.

As mentioned above, pretty sure these need to be run off two seperatre circuits.

Yes, i did turned on the power and i was able to successfully photocopy some test pages, trouble came after i had powered off the machine to come back later and it didnt work anymore

If you are newbie then first question in my mind is 'Did you switch on main power button?'

Yes, i did turned on the power and i was able to successfully photocopy some test pages, trouble came after i had powered off the machine to come back later and it didnt work anymore

Couple of things to look for.

1 If it was working and THEN you attached finisher the finisher is probably the issue.

2 there is an involved procedure to troubleshoot a dead machine but what it boils down to is on the front panel is your small green power light on, flashing or off. Depending on that will get you in the ball park. Probably an SD card/ROM issue as Sharp's are notorious for this.

Thanks bilyahn, it worked even after attaching the finishers, everything worked perfectly well, i turned off the machine and later turned it back on to see that it died and didnt come on again. i have detached all finishers but it still did not work, there is no sign of lights or power at all, its a total blackout. The troubleshoot you mentioned, please can you give me a clearer procedure to execute this? i am a newbie to sharp machines.
