Has something to do with sorter. Get sub-code by pressing print button or 0 button. Sub-codes--- 00=Communication between boards, 01+jogger,02=transport motor,04 lower limit switch,05=upper limit switch,06=shift motor. Frank/ActionP
Paul has made a likely guess. Machines of this era are not plug-and-play. You have to set a value in simulation 26-1 (?) Options, to make the copier aware that it has an accessory. See this except from a previous post:
Machines of this era are not plug & play. The machine must be told what accessories it has then it looks for them. If you remove an accessory that it is configured to have, the machine concludes that that accessory is somehow inoperative.
The way I see it you have two options:
1) You can take some digital photos and attach them to the post, and I'll dredge up wht memories I have about the alignment.
2) You can configure the machine to function without the finisher, and remove it. In simulation 26 there is a submenu called "Options". There will be displayed a number. This number reflects the combination of accessories. For example the RADF (document feeder) is worth X
A cassette base is worth X
A sorter is worth X
'0' value means that the accessory is not present.
The sum total of these numbers = the number displayed. So you need to select the Options submenu, determine the current setting, then subtract the value associated with the sorter, then press start.
Here's the problem. I haven't had a manual for an SF2027 in years, and I don't know the numerical value for the sorter (I think it's '4', but I'm not at all sure). The values range from 1 to 8, so there is a fairly small number of guesses required.
So here are the steps:
Enter Service Mode: C, interrupt, 0, interrupt. Use numbers keypad to enter 26, then Start. I think you can browse to the next submenu with the exposure keys. When Options is highlighted press Start. The current number will be displayed. Enter the new value, then Start to lock it in. I think Reset several times will exit from service mode. Then test the various accessories for function.
Definitely get the manual. As you can see, my memory is not all that clear. And the manual will provide you with the numerical values for the accessories.
=^..^=
In simulation 26-01 reducing the value by 10 will remove the sorter.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
