    Sharp AR-M205...

Hello everyone, im having an issue here with a Sharp AR-M205.
First of all, i'd like to say i do not usually service Sharp's, hence that might be my problem here.
I serviced this machine, gave it a nice cleanup, fuser unit had to be replaced. copy is now pretty good, machine is fairly new (client had a jam and tried to get the sheet out the fuser with a ruler :S) company that sold it doesnt exist anymore, and he came to us since he didnt knew where to go.
Anyways my problem isnt with fixing the machine, thats already done, what i need is to reset the maintenance counter, but either im doing a really dumb mistake, or i need to learn how to read the service manual better >.< according to it, steps to enter servicing mode are "#", "*", "C", "*"... it should then light off the display to proceed to next steps but it doesnt...

Am i doing something wrong here? or did i miss any step? :/

Some input would be highly apretiated, thanks alot in advance.

You may try "#" key, "Interrupt" key, "C" key, "Interrupt" key.

It usually needs to be entered ralatively fast, & some of the machines (not sure if this one) need to be in copy mode to get into simulations. You can also try # interrupt CA # which will also get you into the regular as well as special codes.
      Hope that helps !

tmaged is right. I used to tell other techs that it's all about the tempo. The keys must be pressed fast enough, but not too fast. It should take ~ 1 second to complete the sequence. And yes, some individual machines require several tries to enter the service mode. If there is a fax card, the machine must be in copy mode.

If it's just absolutely not working, maybe you've got a worn out keyswitch on the panel. And your key sequence is correct; #, *, C, *

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
