Haven't worked on it in a while, but I use to replace the scanner motor and PWB that the motor plugs into.

Yes that's a common fault on the Cougar series of machines. Just make sure you get the right combination of parts:

Early production machines had a 2 phase scanner motor (large brass flywheel on the scanner motor). Later machines use a 3 phase motor (no flywheel).

I have used scrap 2 phase motors & driver boards with no problem, as long as it's a match with the machine you have. The upgrade to 3 phase motors was not done on many of the machines in the field. The motor and driver board are unique, and there is a simulation setting that must be changed to accommodate the change in phase. I can look it up if you need this information. There is a post in here (somewhere) detailing the simulation. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

26-59 changes the Phase for different motors. Just changed a motor/pwb combo yesterday.
            Hope that helps !
