    sharp mx-365n phantom ADF misfeed

We've got a sharp mx-365n that reports a misfeed in the document feeder that can't be cleared. It instructs us to lift the lid and check the panel underneath the ADF. All paper has been removed, I've opened the panels and blown it out with compressed air and cleaned the rollers. Nothing I do makes a difference. It just keeps showing the instructions to clear the misfeed.

I understand there's a possibility that a sensor may be knocked out of place or just dirty. But I don't know where the sensors are located and I don't have a service manual for this machine.

    Any help is much appreciated.

I have had this happen with the SPPD5 sensor. It will stick and not return to it's home position, if you close the DSPF forcefully sometimes it will reset but that doesn't fix the underlying problem. It is located directly under the paper feed tray in the DSPF. I would print out sim 23-2 to see which sensor to be sure. It will require quite a bit of disassembly to fix.

    Good luck.

Thank you both very much for your help. After running sim 23-2 it looks like the SPOD sensor is the main issue.
