    AR-407 Scanner Slam

Turn on system, all comes up fine - scanner moves/lights etc and goes to the home position. Go to make a copy, the scanner moves LEFT and slams into the side of the unit (as in past the home position sensor), studders, and makes a messed up copy. Push start again and it works just fine. Push it again and again - just fine (and adf works ok). Let it sit for several minutes - slams on the next copy, and then back to normal again - until idle for a period of time.

Turn off unit, remove scan glass and move scanner to the right. Replace glass, turn on system. Scanner moves to home position. Go to make a copy .... all over again

I have changed out the scanner motor, undone/reconnected all connectors looking for a bent pin, and checked the home position sensor. Could be the board but thought I would ask here to see if any of you have had a simular situation.

We never change just the motor anymore. Always do the motor & PWB in pair. No sense in going back. Could be bad/tight scanner pulleys but 99% of the time it's the motor/pwb.
    Hope that helps !

If you were to do a search you would find at least (5) detailed threads covering this topic. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Thank you Tony

We have access to a PWB and motor in a "parts" unit. Will try that.

Did try a search within AR-407 Blackcat

But thanks for your lack of constrictive input. Feel free to ignore any future posts by me. No response required as I have already wasted enough time on you.

I must confess that my signature strikes some people as hostile. But if you've been on this forum for any length of time, you'll know that this exact signature appears under every one of my posts.

But just for you: I stick with the same signature. When I can, I try to solve my own issues, and I admire those that do so. =^..^=
