[CQ] Sharp MX-M3571 ADF second side has gray background and garbled

Hello, I have an MX-M3571 that i'm having trouble with the second side on a 2-2 copy. The adf is scanning the second side with gray background and almost has a screen door effect. Looks digital. I have changed the ADF ccd unit, the ADF PWB, and have checked all connections. I have attached a sample.

Does it do the same off of glass??? Might be CCD!!!!!

Hello, yes I have done sim 63 and sit chart adjustments. Did those after the ccd and pwb change. It copies fine off the glass. Its the adf scan that is giving me problems. The only thing I havent changed yet is the mfp pwb and was just checking to see if maybe I missed something before I swap out that board.

do you have a power filter on the copier's AC connection?

I had an MX-5140 act the same way and it was electrical noise.

Put a filter on it and never had another issue.

All good things to try.

Before you change that Main PWB, make sure the DF connectors are good at the Main PWB! Check straight pins on the PWB.
I've had some strange things happen when they are not all the way connected.
Sometimes people (salesmen, cleaning crew) use the DF harness as a handle to move the copier. Not a good thing.

Hey thanks for all the replies. I will check those connections on the pwb again as I agree that people do like that harness as a handle. I dont have a filter currently available but I had the same thoughts too. Will get my hands on one and see if that improves anything.

There is a special sheet to calibrate when you replace the board or the CCD.

Adjustment 11-A requires UKOG-0333FCZZ and UKOG-0356FCZZ

Follow the steps in 11-A before replacing anything else. Make sure you are sitting down when you see the prices of those pieces of paper.
