    MX-3570 Melted ADF rollers

Like the tittle says I went for a U5-20 code, found a staple on the adf board, then when I checked the adf rollers after it wouldn't feed found this. Just wondering if any one has ever seen this. Melted rubber wrapped around the grey roller as well, strangest thing Ive ever seen.

They are supposed to have a rubber outer sleave. I would suspect that someone tried to clean it with some kind of solvent that melted the outer sleave.

This is a common issue for those resist rollers.

Melting though? I've only ever had them ride off after being in there for quite a while. Definitely think a solvent was in play that shouldn't have been.

yes, nearly every 3070 4070 etc we currently have in the field has had this happen., I've even had the top layer of that roller literally melt and end up leaving a trail of sticky gunk through the paper path.
Im pretty sure its age related and not because of a solvent.

Are you near Chernobyl? Never had this happen in 10 years... What cleaning solutions are your techs using?

I can't remember when Sharp started using this roller, it might have appeared as a mod on the ARM700u. I've never seen one do this we clean them with isopropyl

We have seen something similar to this at a customer that was scanning and copying carbonless multi part forms and the chemicals form the carbonless paper was damaging the rollers almost as bad as what your picture shows.

                        Definitely age related.

LOL, In Australia where its hot so that may have something to do with it.
The techs here use water or isopropyl alcohol.

Is there a kit with the CR5 roller in it? I've found that Sharp doesn't really give out kit numbers anymore.
