    Weird BP Scanning issue.

    Hi guys,
I am wondering if any one has encountered this.
We have multiple BP machines different speeds some with an RSPF and some with an SPF making lines on scans.
This is not a dirty optics problem as the 4 machines in front of me in the workshop were unboxed today to test this issue, every one of them is doing it.
Its kind of like its a digital corruption issue and seems to happen at the point of converting the raw data into PDF, it does not happen to copies and does not appear in JPG format scans but does appear almost every page in TIFFS.
This is happening on machines with firmware versions 3 and 4
this afternoon we have been getting random customers from the field to send us scans and the lines are appearing on most of them also.
The line is always in the same spot but changes, some are dark, some are light, some are kind of squigly.

    I have attached a couple samples .
the second sample I have zoomed in on the line.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Are you talking about the vertical line on the right hand side?

On a BP60C31 for example obviously you can do a skew adjustment.

On an A4 device I’m not so sure, it seems to happen a lot along with noticeable skew. You could try setting a larger void area around the edge, which won’t help skew but could make the line disappear.

You need to calibrate the SPF.

After you get the skew straightened out, you can adjust sim 50-27 for scan/fax alignment.

          Thanks for your replies guys,
Turned out to be a light leak and the rear height of the SPF needed adjusting, it was at 4.5mm on all machines needs to be around 3 and definitely no more than 3.5 according to the service manual.

Looks like the edge of the paper to me.
using 48 mode to enlarge the subscan size of the image may help. Often the DF scan reduces image slightly.
you can also enlarge the side void for scanner, wiping out that area of the edge cleaning up the scan image

Adjust 50-27 setting F to eliminate the lines
