    BP-Fuser-Ghost

    Hi
I have the following problem with 2 fuser units from the BP series:
They start to smear from time to time, as if the fuser unit is not transferring the toner correctly and produces a "ghost" on the next page. See attachment.
Have you ever had something like this with the series yourself? With a new fuser unit the error goes away immediately. Ausstellung_20250311_164147.pdf

That in the circles, not the scan line

    Thx

Haven't had that issue yet, but those samples make it pretty tough to tell what it's "reprinting". I would almost think there are toner specks printing, and running the fuser cleaning sheet could resolve it. That can also be setup to be done automatically.

There was a bulletin about increasing fuser temps for plain paper by 5 or 10 degrees to help with toner build up on separation plate, I would try that.

I have had this issue ,and it will randomly give a L4-03 error, had to replace the FB web unit, to fix for now. They start turning so hard it will break
the gears in the fuser. These are junk. I have this same issue with some Brother DCP and MFC fusers. I have put a couple of drops of silicon oil on the ends of fuser, under the belt. These are running ok after a year of adding the oil. I am going to try this on the BP fuser that is turning hard and see if it helps.
        Dan.

Something similar happened to me with that fuser model and I had to change the fuser belt with 95,800 copies.

              Update:

Since two BP fusers failed within 24 hours, I installed the "smeared" one from a BP-70C55 into a BP-70C31, where it's currently running without issues. And I installed the heater from the device into a BP-70C65, whose fuser failed with error H3-02. What garbage

The fuser belts are supposed to last 600k, I think we would all be happy if they could last more than 50%!!
