    Scan To USB Issue

When i plug my flash drive into a Sharp mx-3571 it scans the files successfully but when i go to computer it does not show that the files are there. It only shows one of the files. Sharp tech support told to update the firmware.

First, have you checked your USB drive on another computer to verify it's not just this one with the issue? Is it PC or Mac?

I've had similar issues myself, but only the other way around (files not appearing on the copier when trying to retrieve them, or unrecognised USB drive). It was either a matter of FAT32 vs NTFS formating or simply the copier was too ancient and could not show as much files as the drive contained on the menu, hence they "weren't there" even if they really were...

I changed the usb file format and it still shows one file and not multiple files on the usb.

what file type are you scanning over? how many scan files are supposed to be there? You're not scanning 5 pages at one time and expecting file different files, are you?

The file type is PDF. So I scanned 3 different documents 1 after each other so there should be 3 different files. I am not expecting there to be 5 different files for a 5 page document.

But do you have the 3 pages in the PDF ?
If you expect 1 page per PDF, you need to change this settings :
                Attached Files

Yes i do. Also i figured out the issue it was a file name issue they had it set to image. And everytime they scanned it would overwrite the file name.

Ahhh that makes sense. We always leave it on date/time stamp, otherwise the customer can change it each time with the pull out keyboard.

Could you elaborate a little better on what they want? I'm assuming you mean they want "Image 1" as the file name, but haven't had it delete the files on USB..

When the client had the file name as Image 1 the scan to the usb would over write the old file. So i changed it to date time. So now the client wants the file name to be Image. Is there a way around this.

You can set it for a specific word, but you would need to change something else about it, otherwise it will overwrite. You can also try the "unique identifier" check box here
