Tech bulletins have been released about this issue.

There was a batch of faulty RAM that was installed on all MFP board on the entire range of CR4.5 devices and Polaris 3 models

I have had this across many models. I ended up sending all MFP board back to Sharp Japan to get them repaired. Most got repaired, some didn't

No versions of firmware wont fix this issue

And how does one send them back to Sharp Japan to get them repaired?

The only option we have here is buying a new one and throwing the old one away...which turns out quite expensive.

btw: after the downgrade, the error came back, but less frequently...

After consulting with Sharp Germany via IATS, we got the board replaced because the serial number given was one of the machines where the bad components were used. We received the board in advance, replaced it with the customer and then sent the defective one back to Sharp. For me it was an MX-2651

We did the same thing with the 2 we had. Had to swap the board for the issue, then was somehow sent a defective board with the same error, and both were comped.

              Guys,
We had two MX-3571's having the code. One the screen would go blank on, the other one just kept popping the code. We ended up having to replace both MFP/SCN PWB's in those units.
I found this out, the reason why the error goes away is because the DDR4 is corrupted for a certain lot of these machines.
So, Hytec repairs are the cheapest way to go with it.
Or, if you have a lease return going back, swap it out, the machine will be fine when the leasing company checks it out.

That´s what Sharp Germany has in its system. No further information, no TR number

Error U2-74 indicates a problem with firmware recovery and can be reset by the operator by confirming (OK) on the error display.

On devices that are not switched off overnight, the device firmware is checked at 3:00 a.m. If a change to the firmware is detected during this check, the original firmware will be restored. This is a security function that prevents manipulation of the device firmware. This feature can be enabled/disabled in the device's security settings.

If the error occurs once, we recommend updating the firmware to the latest version. Please always note that the device must be restarted before a firmware update. All memories are initialized so that the full memory area is available for the firmware update.

Update: If further U2-74 errors occur in combination with E7-C2 or E7-C3 errors, we recommend that you contact the Sharp Technical Field Supporter responsible for you or one of the colleagues in the Hamburg office.

I think I found the rams on a defective board.

                      it says 029V

So in the report, does it mean 'from 027V upto 032V' or just "027V and 032V"?

Unsure of your employer or region for that matter but I had the option of returning the boards for repair (if they could be repaired)

I bought a MX5071 from a wholeseller just for its MFP pwb for another machine. As I tested the machine, prior to removing it's pwb, it displayed the U2-74. Also, it's trouble history was full of U2-74 codes. I could tell that its previous owner had not cleared its private data from looking at the icons on the touch panel. I executed "initiliaze private data" and tested for 2 weeks. The trouble code did not return.
