    MX-3071/5071 fuser bearings

Does anyone know what the bearing part number is for the fuser belt unit heat roller? There is no parts breakdown in the parts manual for the belt unit and it seems a little crazy to pay $253.00 for a unit to fix a noisy bearing. I am trying to locate a bearing on another model that fits but the heat sleeve on the ends of the roller make it an odd size.

If the age of the belt unit is more than 3 years, I would just replace the belt unit anyway, the holder for the top rod is going to be broken soon any minute now anyway.

I have never had one break and have been rebuilding these fusers for years now.

Really? What failures have you seen most? Putting any parts into the belt unit, besides replacing the whole thing, is like trying to polish a turd.

You haven't had the rod holders break for the fusing belt unit? I don't believe you. The highlighted part breaks for us all the time, causing the fuser to lock up and throw an L4-03.

I've had this problem, but it's extremely rare.

Dang, over the last 9 years of the Phoenix/Phoenix2 machines, I'd say that's about 20% of the reason we have to replace those belts.

I second that...the fusers lock up all the time because of this.

                What are we doing wrong?

Trusting that Sharp will make a fuser that lasts to it's maintenance interval ever again...
