A customer that moved here (Houston) from California brought a Sharp MXC402SC with them. This is in the customers home. I went out there Monday (3/14). The machine didn't look like it was properly prepared for the move.
As I examined it I noticed that many of the places where the screws holes in the covers were broken. There was also a lot of cyan all over the vents in the back. When I arrived the machine was giving a L3-00 code.
I managed to get into the scanner area and the rail seemed to rather dirty. I cleaned the rail off wit a light lubricant. My rag came away a little blue as I cleaned the rail. After I put the machine back together, it started working fine. We made many copies and scans without problem before I left.
Yesterday afternoon the customer called saying the machine is giving the error code of L3-00. They can reboot, but it comes back.
Any insight into this problem with this machine would be helpful. All silver bullets are welcomed.
Thanks.
