The mag roller will stain and you actually have to sand it off to get rid of it. It has 48,000 copies on it and this is the second time I've had to sand it.(The first was at 18,000). Using OEM toner & developer. Anyone else run into this ?

Re: MX-2630 Stained Mag Roller
We used to get "stained" mag rollers on the AR-M450. We used to clean them with a Scotch Brite pad. I think we had it happen becuase we would try to run the developer 200K instead of 100K. I am not sure why it is happening to your machine.Comment

Re: MX-2630 Stained Mag Roller
I have this happen quite a bit in the B/W units and I use Emory cloth also. It has caused CQ issues and very annoying. Not sure why this is happening more so now than in the past. Before it would normally be on the ends of the mag roller but now the entire thing is coated. I have also used scotch brite pads but 250 grit emory cloth works a lot better.
Good luck

Re: MX-2630 Stained Mag Roller
On the Toshiba Masherbrum series, on the early production developing units the developing roller was smooth, and the toner tended to adhere to the roller. We'd scrub the developing roller with Scotch Brite (you could do it even if it was full of developer, as long is you did it dry/no cleaner). Later on, Toshiba came up with a new style developing roller with grooves down it's length, which tended to stay clean. Toshiba even came up with a name for the anomaly: Developer Slip.
Those machines are all gone now, but for about 10 years we scrubbed a lot of developing rollers. =^..^=Last edited by blackcat4866; 04-21-2022, 03:19 PM.If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Re: MX-2630 Stained Mag Roller
I have not seen this problem on any of the newer machines.
Last I saw it was on MXM565's. Machines were in school environment and poor ventilation causing high internal temp.
Check fans and filters and make sure machine is not flat against back wall.Comment
