    [Electrical] MX 6070 Interesting problem

    Hi All,
As I am retired now but keep reading the posts on Copytechnet as I find them very interesting and you guys have so much information which make this a fantastic forum.

I have a friend in the UK who sent me this picture of a MX 6071 Toner motor unit that has fried the chip contact. He has aske me if I have ever seen something like this before. As I really did not know much about Sharp units I could not help him. Maybe some of you can enlighten me in the correct direction. All consumables were original.

I have never seen anything like that.It should not even get hot there. Maybe the wires were pinched or something and they got shorted out?

I agree with you. Looks like the chip caused the melt. But that is a low voltage unit. Looks so unusual.

Re: MX 6070 Interesting problem, Had a thought!

In reading some more in the Sharp area of this site along with my friend telling me the machine also had a L4-11 and L4-77 code. These are related to the PCU PWB. That PWB also is connected to the chip reader. I was wondering if the problems with the 2 motors and the chip reader were some how related to the problem with the PCU PWB or the Grounding system that is supposed to eliminate the static build up from damaging the PCU PWB and sending high voltages to these circuits causing the melt down?
