I don't know if this fax uses a CCD or CIS, but it's one or the other. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

After cleaning the mirrors of the CCD unit, you can run the shading wave/CCD adjust diag by feeding a blank sheet of paper through the doc feeder.

After mirrors are cleaned, press Function, 9, star, 8, #, 7 to enter diagnostics.
Press # to step forward or star to backup to Shading mode. Put a clean sheet of paper in doc feeder, and press start. It should then read the white reference and store it.
This is all from memory, and I am a senior member of CRS (can't remember shite) so the steps might be off.

                    UX103 black copies

                    Gday,

Check/replace the 4 caps after the +- 12 Regs in the power supply.when they go the introduce noise to the rails to the CCD causing black copies.
                    Hope this helps
