Has anyone rebuilt one of these fusers yet? Is the belt kit a BP-FB700?

Re: BP70C55
I hope you figure it out. TD says the BP-FB700 is "End of Life". My Sharp rep told me TD has been telling dealers that some new products not yet in their system is mistakenly flagged as "End of Life.
I sent this to my rep and asked if it was correct:
My Service Manuals list them asfollows:
BP-FB700 Fusing Belt Unit forthe COLOR SERIES
BP-FB702 Fusing Belt Unit forthe MONO SERIES
I was told the 702 is the corrent one for both. Haven't rebuilt one yet to know if the 702 is really for both. I can find no documentation for the 702 subbing for the 700 either. -

Re: BP70C55
I found that in the latest parts book both fusers have the same part number for the complete fuser. However in the service manuals they are still showing different numbers? I have rebuilt one of each so far but i had the original numbers. When I went to reorder the belt part my supplier told me they were both the same now and shipped me the BP-FB700Comment

Re: BP70C55
Why would they change the belt unit to a different number when the original part doesn't have any problems? Did they make a bad part so they can sell more. Just asking.Comment

Re: BP70C55
We were told by Tom Jones just to replaced the whole fuser and not bother doing the rebuild on these. What did your rep tell you guys?Comment

Re: BP70C55
I would love to do that every time, especially because the process to rebuild it is quite in-depth.
Mentioned it to our rep, Brad, and he said "yeah but you get everything in the kit!" but then WHY is it SO EXPENSIVE to buy the whole thing? Paying 200 for the frame pretty much? Garbage.
I'd rather rebuild a Polaris series fuser over the BPs.Comment

Re: BP70C55
We may have the same rep.
I figured it is $120.00 less to rebuild which includes one hour of labor. I may be missing some bearings though as I haven't actaully opened any of the kits. It may make sense to scrap any fuser that codes out and is aged.
The fuser as a supply item is cheaper than the part by $30.57.Comment

Re: BP70C55
If you've ever worked on the Ricoh MP series I swear these BP's are just Ricoh's with Sharp Covers. The ADF rollers are now a pain to replace vs the MX-5071's, The fuser is a hassle compare to the previous gen. Our manager just agreed with Tom and was like F it just order the whole unit. Because some of our clients are over 60 mins away they don't want us spending most of our day at just 1 call. But on the plus side we did have a lot of issues with the previous gen. of fusers with H codes, fusers barely making it to 60k prints. We rolled out the BP's and we haven't really have any calls.Comment

Re: BP70C55
My costs show 200.00 less to rebuild which includes one hour of labor. My main concern with these fusers is that the fuser belt wanders off to the side destroying themselves. Even on the brand new machines I make sure to do the meandering adjustment before and after delivery. The last new machine I set up was way off on the adjustment.Comment
