Hello, I am working at a lawyers office. They assign each customer a user control number. The head guy wants it so when sending a print you have to put in code number each time. Right now whatever number is in job control stays as default. He also wants to be able to see what number is currently in there. Maybe you can but I dont think so. But if it is possible to have to put code in each time when sending a print that would make customer happy. Thanks for any help on this.

Re: MX-M3070 user control question.
On the driver side? Yes. Turn on "Auto Job Control Review" in Job Handling
On the machine side? Also, yes. Turn on Print Release on the machine, and enable it in the driver in job handling. IF it's something they want forced, you can go in to Printing Properties > Configuration> Printing Policies, and force Print Release on drivers so they can't change it. -
Re: MX-M3070 user control question.
That may make IT & administration happy, but I'd imagine that the endusers are going to be less than enthusiastic about it. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

All the endusers were fine with everything. The boss-owner is the guy who makes everything there difficult.Comment

Re: MX-M3070 user control question.
One off requests are always tricky. I agree though, it would be nice to see them, or at least be able to enable an option for it. Kyocera drivers used to have the ability to show a list of users, but it wasn't the option that popped up every time. I don't personally like the "Auto Job Control Review", mostly because the name is very confusing; but also because it's pretty limited.Comment

Re: MX-M3070 user control question.
I'm not quite sure what you want, but it's the dumbest idea ever for a single user per PC (I do this only for PC in teachers' rooms).
First, to remove the default :
Printer "Preferences", 5 tab "Job Handling", remove the "Authentication"
[PRINTER]|
PRINTING WHEN THE USER AUTHENTICATION FUNCTION IS ENABLED|BP-70C65|04-02_002|manual download|MFP / Copier / Printer products|Office solution: Sharp
Then if you want to enter your code for EACH print job :
Printer "Properties", last tab "Configuration", "Printing Policy", "User Authtentication"

Now EACH job will ask for the user number.
"He also wants to be able to see what number is currently in there."
Why ? I don't understand the purpose.
A less retarded system that I apply for lawyers is each user have a folder on the MFP with a code, the code is in the driver, they need to type the code only once in front of the MFP to access their folder and release whatever job(s).Comment

Re: MX-M3070 user control question.
Thanks for your reply. I am going to go over what you posted, Ill try to explain better what they are doing. They Have a list of clients, different attorneys ect. They all have their own user code. When the customer is working on a client they put that clients number in so when they are done working with client they can charge them for any prints made while working on their case. So almost everytime the customer makes prints they have to put in the user code for whatever client the prints are for. So he would like it if possible so that the user codeafter making the prints, the code clears out so they have to enter a code each time. Hope that makes sense.

That's probably what they want, but I've never used it so can't comment more on it.Comment
