MXM350N - grey background with lines.

Getting grey background, which does not have the same density throughout the page. There are slightly darker lines every 1/8 to 1/4" from lead to trail and the lines look similar to what you would expect from a MC unit. I have replaced drum, MC unit, blade. Cleaned TS unit. I do not feel that it is the DV.

The only other thing that I have to add, which I am having the customer fix, is the outlet is dangling in the wall. It is plugged in fine, the outlet seems to be secured to the box. H to G and H to N are at 119 / 120 VAC and the highest I have seen the N to G is about 1 V.

Have you tried printing 64-1 (pattern 83) internal prints to rule out the scanner?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I would think either generic toner contamination OR a dirty mag roller (which happens even with OEM toner). Replace DV unit (not too expensive) or clean the roller thoroughly.

Yes, I have done regular print jobs and internal prints. I will check the developer unit. Thanks for the advise.

One of the other guys in the company had a MXM350 that was giving werid background stuff. The machine pretty new with only 10k copies on it. They changed the Drum, drum unit, Dv, DV unit nothing seemed to take care of it. They talked to Sharp and compared values from the customers machine and the machine at Sharp and were finding alot of values were very differnt. They corrected them and so far the machine has not had any problems that i have heard about.

But start with the simple stuff first like checking your DV etc so you don't drive your self mad

You could also try printing a 22-6 from the machine and then do another 22-6 from another machine and compare.

The dv and dv unit had nothing to do with it. Lawrence is right. The exposure settings were all screwed up. Works fine now.
            Thanks for everyon's help.

Glad you got it fixed up. From what i was told the guys had to change voltage values and change values in Sim 44 and adjust process control settings. Sounds like you got the easier version
