    F1-38

I have an AR-M550U with the FN15 & PN2B. I'm getting an F1-38. As far as I can tell, replacing the punch PWB is the only option. It won't clear out at all.
    Thanks for any input.
    Hope that helps !

    Hey Tony,

I have not had that one myself. First thing that comes to mind is maybe do a Firmware Re-Flash or update before replacing the PWB.
You would have obviously reseated all cables/plugs on all finisher boards..... struggling to think of anything else that might help.

I had an AR-F16 that gave me F1-34. That's Finisher Out Of Order. First I replaced the finisher controller. It blew instantly. Then I replace the punch PWB and the finisher PWB simultaneously. It blew again instantly. Then I replaced the punch assembly and the finisher PWB simultaneously. Then it stayed gone.

I figure it was some sort of dead short in the punch assembly, and that I'd consumed enough finisher PWBs. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Ive had the punch board blow up. I think what happens is the punch gets hard to turn, puts a overcurrent on the motor and poof there goes the board. My machine was in a dusty enviroment. I went through 2 boards in a period of half a year. When i replaced the 3rd board i went to the parts guide and you can just get the section that just has the punch head. 2 years later and still rockin.

When you install the new board make sure you check the service manaual for the punch. You have to go to the back of the finisher board and flip some dip switches and press some buttons to reprogram the punch board. By default it has no idea what kind of punch modual it's going on.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I have had the same trouble recently the f1-38 and the newest firmware availible from sharp seems to have fixed the problem, it has not returned as of yet. I would try this before putting a new board in.
