I have a customer with a Sharp SF2030 copier that intermidently throws F2 codes. I get to the call and someone has turned it off/on again and the code has cleared. The copier then works for a week or so. What are the causes of F2 codes on this model?

You need to adjust the drum mark and image density sensors to get rid of the F2 codes popping up, the values are too far out causing this.
First clean the 2 sensors in drum unit before re-adjust the values.
I think the code is 44-2 and 44-3, adjust the vr's on front of the drum unit under cover.
The vr on the left side will be adj. with 44-3 I believe, and the vr on the right use code 44-2.
Adjust them both as close as you can get to the value of 204 and you will be good to go... -
Those adjustments are only going to help if your consumables are in good shape. Dead developer, worn drum, or failing developer bearings can also produce F2 codes.
It would help to know the rest of the code, i.e.: F2-xx
Hold down the start key with the code present to see the sub-code. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
