I have a test for some old timers out there. I have an AR335 that the doc feeder will close to within about an inch of being closed and hang there. You can push it down and make copies, but it will not stay down. I've opened everything up and can see nothing catching or holding it. The only thing I can think is something happened in one of the hinges, although I have no idea what, that is causing it to hang up. I'm going to install some serviceable hinges next time I can get there, but just wanted to know if anyone has run into this before.

I'm voting for worn out hinges. The left is usually the worst. If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Ooohh Blackcat, My vote is MOST definitely with ZOOTECH. It's the rubber stopper on the metal plate on the bottom of the ADF. I just happen to carry one !!!Comment

Is this what you mean (#52)? I've seen plenty of machines that this is totally gone, and it seemed to make no difference.

That's the one. The adf won't close all the way without that little booger !!Comment

That rubber nipple pushes your size sensor plate down. Without it, the size sensor plate catches on the edge of the ADF belt frame.Comment
