Sharp AL 1655 cs

In a previous post I mentioned that the pf clutches are not firing. I have since accessed them in diagnostics and they do indeed work ... The machine indicates that it has no paper after failing to feed ???

Could a paper restart sensor in the optics cause this ?? Or perhaps a paper feed sensor in the feed path ???

If I manually trip the pf solenoid just after pushing the print button it will feed paper and make a copy !!! And if it can be activated diagnostics why wouldn't the machine fire it in order to make a copy ??

I actually ended up filing a bit of the edge of the catch on the clutch off and greasing it ... Seems either the solenoid gets weak or the machine doesn't fire it long enough, but this worked for me ... I still use it as an office copier ...

THESE SOLENOIDS AND ONE WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLYS ARE VERY SENSITVE TO DIRT AND DEVELOPER. GREASING (WHITE GREASE) WOULD BE PART TWO.. FIRST CLEAN THE ONE WAY CLUTCH SPRING AND SHAFT WITH wd -40 THEN GEASE IT ,AND BACK TOGETHER. CLEAN THE SOLENOID PLUNGER .
