sharp al 2040 cs adf problem!!

i have a sharp al 2040 cs printer that lets me scan and copy just fine using the flat bed. but when i try and scan or copy using the adf, the scanner lamp just stays stuck in the home position trying to get over to the right side where the copies will go through the adf, and makes a wierd noise. i noticed that when its on the flat bed there is a drikve pulley in the back that starts to spin, but dosent on the adf copy mode... any help, i have no clue of where to start, has anyone had this issue? thanks

Maybe try a 41-06 with about 40 sheets of plain white paper on the Glass.

I recommend getting a service manual to help with this procedure. It will also help you in the future.

also make sure the scanner unit lock is not turned up. even if it copies fine from the glass, if you turn that knob to the locked position it will keep the scanner from getting far enough over to get to scan the things you are trying to feed through the adf

Even thought the display is different i do believe the the SIM will work the same. Give it a go and let us know.

Try "C" "EXPOSURE" "C" "EXPOSURE" within 2 seconds the use the key pad to input your numbers
