I have what i think is a very minor problem with a fax unit on an MX-C311 but I'm not sure because I havent been able to find what the status code means. They have no problem sending faxes but occasionally usually with longer faxes (more than 2 pages) they wont come through and the job completed page shows the status code of NG070000 and that 000 pages came through. I have looked online most of yesterday afternoon and everywhere talks about error codes but never the status codes. If anyone has any knowledge of what this means or where a good place to look is I would appreciate any help. thanks.

07-0000 is No signal or DCN No response in reciever side or DCN signal received (transmitter side). This is out of an Sharp Fax field service handbook. Have you tried turning on the protocol monitor through softswitch 37 bit 1 & 2 to 1 (print on error)? This would let you see just what all signals are occurring. Is it from all locations or just some? Long distance or local? -
i didn't know about the protocol monitor switches. it's from a few different ones but not consistently usually once throughout a day but never the same time. I believe it was long distance since its a small town and was from a market info company, i could be wrong though.Comment

Thanks Dave it appears to be a problem wit the line since it has had the same prob show up on a few new numbers as well. Gotta love local telecom companies out in the sticks. on a side note please to advertise on my posts when the manual I would need isn't in your inventory...i took the time to look thanks again though Dave.Comment

You could check to see if they are using VoIP. When it first came out a large number of providers did not upgrade right away. If they are in the outback, their provider may still not have up graded and you may be getting a timing out issue. You could try turning off ECM and setting the Tx speed lower - sometimes works for bad lines and old VoIP.Comment

We still have a lot of phone lines that have limited data transfer ability or noisy lines. We almost always have to lower the Tx speed since for some reason the Sharp will not do it properly. I can plug in a cheap HP fax or brother fax and have no problem but with the Sharp it will not go until you reduce the sending speed and then it works fine! Go figure? I'm not sure on the MXC311 but on the MXM260 you can set the speed lower when you set up speed dialing for that number.
Good luck.
