I have an MXM350 that when making a copy will magnify the image about 1%. I can fix this by going into sim 48-1 and adjusting #2 (magnification ratio) but the problem is the change won't lock in, as soon as you close the sim it goes back to 100%. Does anyone know how to lock this setting in place. I know that the book says either the start key or the P# key will lock it but they won't. Thanks for any help.

It should work. I haven't seen one yet that acted the way you suggest. If it's networked I might temporarily disconnect the network cable. Network printing traffic can interfere with operation of the simulations. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I've just had a look at a MXM350 as I remembered this post. My 48-01 adjustment in #2 works fine, and stays locked in. I even tried the same setting on an old ARM350 and it worked too.
I dont know why your setting is not registering, but as that magnification adjust value is usually stored on the scanner pwb, maybe change that board and see what happens. Could also be a firmware issue or even a destination setting that is causing this.
Other machines have a different 48-01 settings, but the ones I just tried with the same functions, worked perfectly fine.Comment

Hi folks, I really could use more ideas on this. Sharp is stumped, and so am I. Wazza, I don't see how it could be the board, because I saw the same thing on 2 mxm's and an arm. The only thing that makes sense is that I'm doing something wrong, but I'm following what the book says and have tried it several times. Help! ThanksI know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.Comment

I've just re-checked the machines I tested earlier. The setting changes definitely stay locked in once the start copy button is pressed. I even power cycled the machines & checked the setting had stayed after restart too.
What version firmware are you running?Comment

I have now tried 5 different machines and none of them will lock changes in Sim 48-1 #2. When you guys are getting this to work, are you leaving the sim and re-entering to check if the change is still there? I'd really like to know what I'm doing wrong. I just checked the firmware, and it is an older version. I tried to update and it errored out on me. Maybe these machines just don't like me.I know I should be ashamed of myself. wrong test command
There are different commands in 48-1 if you are changing the top setting #2 which is a % adjustment it will only change for the copies you run in service mode, and then go back to 100. You have to change #3 CCD main and #4 CCD sub to actually effect a permanent change. And the same for the 2 adf settings.Comment
