MX2300N background on color copies from platen glass

Getting background only when I make copies from the platen glass in auto exposure mode, copies look good using DF or photo exposure. B/W copies are fine. Updated firmware, reset CCD with sim 63-5 (don't have a SIT chart), color calib done. Test prints come out without background. Scans from the platen to a USB device are good. Only happens when copying in color. Have included copy and scan images as well as machine settings. Anyone seen this before?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions that you might have.

You haven't mentioned Shading correction in 63-02.
That is the first thing I would do, as well as 63-03.

Check the AE copy mode settings in 46-02 & 46-02. Reset to default if needed & retest.

The problem cant be the CCD, but definitely can be the scanner board if this still happens after the above adjustments.

Did not do the 63-3 as we don't have the high dollar SIT chart. That's why I just reset the gamma correction with 63-5. Will have to go back and do 63-2. All the 46 values are at their defaults. Thanks for the suggestions.

Check the "Exposure Adj" in "System Settings" - "Copy Settings".
You can adjust B/W or COLOUR exposure level from automatic document feeder or document glass.
Maybe someone has changed this one...
