First of all, you need to ensure all the LED units are focused correctly & the toners are in good condition. If one color or more is faint due to a cartridge fault or LED out of focus, you will always have an overtoning of other colors due to it compensating for the other color loss.

Adjust the LED focus as per the S.M. and run sim 64-01, A=23 & 22 for the halftone tests to check if focus on all colors are correct for a full page print job.
Once you are certain this is OK, run 46-24 & 67-24. It should come up OK with your Sharp Testchart.
If you are still having issues, please attach a scan of the 64-01 test prints.

Agreed, but Sharp made lemonade from lemons with the MX series after this ARC series.

Make sure the Transfer Belt unit is in good condition as well. Run the calibration jig in the transfer belt unit if you are having problems with getting a decent grayscale.

You should also now know about the DV drive gears which easily crack, causing front/rear frame lines & banding. Once you have checked these & adjusted the focus/LED, run the calibration as above. You'll never get the same quality as an MX or any laser engine for that matter, but you should get a decent print out of it.
