What finisher? FN6 or FN7? Firmware update never hurts.

      jams @ finisher

      Hi,
Have you verified that it is indeed the finisher @ fault? I have had numerous jamming calls due to the two "exit switches" located in the switchback section due to "heat failure" as they are located just above the fusing section. intermittent to continuous jamming regardless of which finisher you are using. Your lead edge can be entering eitheir finisher b4 the "jam" stops everything. Good Luck!!!

I have had jams with the FN6 finisher which were due to a broken spring on one of the fingers that hangs off a clear plastic gate in the compiler area of the finisher.
What are the jam codes? As already stated the sensors in the turnover unit, as well as the one ways on the gears in the turnover unit are often culprits. I would remove the finisher and run copies to the center tray and see if you don't still get jams.
Go to 22-03 and report back on what the jam codes are.

F1-87 is usually caused by a broken spring on one of the sliders that the stapler activates when it goes in to it's stapling position. Most often it is the one on the rear frame side. Remove the finisher from the machine and look at all the movable gates, you will probably see a broken spring.

                See here: http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sh...r-trouble.html

This is not a jam code. This is a staple position error code. Big Difference. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That is true, perhaps the original poster meant error code. Is it jamming too or does it just come up with the F1-87 code?

Yes, it jams the paper in the finisher

Ok so if it is jamming there is a jam code associated with the jam. The jam map is at 22-3. Go to 22-3 as I requested earlier and report the jam codes you have there.
