sharp 3610 rotation with tray switching

I have a new 3610 trying to have it auto tray switch with image rotation I have both selected but when 11X8.5 runs out it asks you to add paper instead of auto taking 8.5 X 11 from another tray . also it wont let you scan fron df and glass during same scanning session. you have 5 originals 4 are ok to go through adf but 1 is undersized so they have to put it on the glass but it wont let me.. Thanks for your help

Go into system settings, admin settings, copy settings and see if auto tray switching is checked. It is normally defaulted on Sharps but have noticed the newer ones have changed some of the default settings. As for scanning use job build and that should work for your scanning documents.

Why are you running 8.5x11R (landscape)? It slows the machine down. Rotate the paper to 8.5x11 (portrait).

Auto Tray switching works when the paper is the same as the tray you started using.

As for the DF, i have a older MX2300 and it does the same thing. Probably a limitation of the machine.

Not sure about your tray switching problem other than having the same type and size of paper loaded in the cassette but try turning on mixed originals during scanning and see if that helps.
