    arm205 ghosting

i mainly work on ricoh. i have a problem on a arm205 b/w copier. the same image seems to print twice on one page. if i change the original, it reprints the same image twice on the same page but giving it the ghosting effect. i have changed the hot roller and pressure roller, the drum unit, dev unit and even the whole fuser unit. when i stopped the copy before it got to the fuser i can see the ghosting on the drum and on the paper but the drum unit was already replaced with no effect.what can it be??

Check the drum ground pin on the rear of the machine, easy reached through the side door, clean any gunk off, maybe even hit it with a bit of scotch brite pad.

I had a new install once where the LSU glass that reflects the laser onto the drum was put in backwards. So instead of hitting the mirrored side and reflecting, the laser passed through the glass first then was reflected back through the glass onto the drum. This caused more of a double image than ghosting; if the LSU was changed recently, this might be the cause of your problem.

What interval in millimeters does the shadow image appear?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It's fairly common to have the drum blade flip on Pegasus and Panthers. If that is the case the drum and blade are unsavable, require replacement and priming with starting powder. For those of you with rulers, it's 94mm. =^..^=
