job build issues on MX623 and MXB402SC

I have a customer that is trying to scan in documents and receipts into an MX623 and a MXB402SC. They have the same issues using either. When they want to scan different size originals using job build, they are limited to either the adf or the glass. Whatever they start scanning with, it will not let them use the other. If they start thier scan using letter size thru the adf, then try to scan thier receipts using the glass, the machine tells them to put originals in adf. If they start with the receipts on the glass then try to put the letter size thru the adf, it tells them to place originals on the glass. Other machines (toshiba and konica I know of) will alllow you to use either while you are building a job into one file. Does anyone know if there is a setting that will allow me to do this?

There is a setting in special modes for mixed originals. This should take care of this issue.

    Good luck.

I did try that but it wont work due to the fact that Mixed Origianal mode wants to use the adf. No matter what I try, anytime I try to scan multiple pages into one scan, it will only let me use either the glass or the adf. I cannot use the combination of both. If I set the machine up to Job Build and Mixed Original, it will only allow me to scan pages thru the adf. If I try to use the glass either to start the job or to scan the receipts, it tells me to put originals in document feeder.

Anyone have a solution to this issue? My customer is asking if the machine has the same exact function? Is there a work around?
